I've always had rather intense dreams when I'm able to remember them. They are usually vivid with color as well as emotion and those most easily remembered are also of a fearful sort. Last night's dream was a bit fearful but also interesting... at least to me.
I'd mentioned a few months ago that my husband, daughter, and I went to the Renaissance Festival here. It was a great time and my husband and I made several purchases of hand-crafted items. One of my purchases was a walking stick - only slightly shorter than a staff. My walking stick has a resin dome on the top in which a scorpion has been encased. Being a scorpio, I was drawn to that piece and after leaving it several times, decided to finally purchase it.
Last night's dream starred my walking stick, or rather the scorpion in it. I'd spent yesterday doing some wood burning on my walking stick as well as my husband's to mark them as already purchased for next year's faire as the same merchants tend to be there from year to year and we wanted proof that they were ours. Anyway, for some reason in my dream I was again tinkering with my walking stick when I noticed that there was a seam all around the dome. When I turned the dome, the scorpion inside began to move. Initially I thought the movement was somehow mechanized as a result of the turning but then the scorpion continued to move around once I'd stopped turning the dome's top. I then began noticing details on the dome that I'd not seen before. There were air holes in the dome and obviously the seam that ran through the middle. The scorpion moved in jerky motions at first but then became more fluid in its movements once it loosened up. And then a thought occurred to me - the scorpion, if it had been encased in resin alive (or so I was thinking considering its recent animation) had not eaten for a very long time. I became obsessed in my dream with feeding the scorpion and how to get food to it without being stung. I found a new hole in the dome which seemed to lend itself to this purpose and the dome continued to get larger as did the scorpion. I dropped something in for the scorpion to eat just missing being stung.
And then I woke up.
And so now I look up scorpions in dreams and consider the meaning. It fits. As my dreams normally do when it comes to my current frame of mind. Odd how that happens so consistently with me....
I'm not bothered. It is what it is. I do, however, feel the urge to light some incense and just think on it for awhile.

There seem to be a lot of us 'mischievous lovers' out here on this bubble of the blogosphere! So hello from one more scorpion to another. :)
I do love scorpios and being a scorpio. We are a pleasantly wicked sort! lol
