A Week in Review

Typed by Pom

And what a week it's been. No kidding - it's been a roller coaster of events and emotions in my little corner of the world - ups, downs, loopy-de-loops, and the occasional upside down.

Not every detail is mine to reveal and I won't. But I'll skim the surface of a couple of things (more or less to remind myself of when they happened) and then get onto my own stuff...

1 - Mini Me is single again.
2 - The thing that my husband and I had consider impossible for so long has come to pass and while it's early on there is great potential for redemption.
3 - It took me 4 days to walk again without pain after going to Ren Fest.

So tonight we went to do our usual weekly errands - grocery store, dinner, and any other miscellaneous things that need to be taken care of at any distance from home. We made a stop at the hardware store where I picked up junior sized tools to complete a task I'd planned months ago. Some might remember that my husband brought home a shed antler for me. I've decided to turn it into runes and then see what remains and something else might come of it as well. So I purchased a junior sized hacksaw (with replacement blades), a vise, some ultra fine steel wool, gloves, and masks. My plan is to slice the antler into pieces, polish the pieces, and then hopefully (assuming all goes well) burn the runes into the centers of the pieces. It'll be my first time working with antler and I have little idea of how it will go, but I'm hoping for the best. I'm also hoping that my body holds out and lets me do the work that this will require as I'm sure it will be challenging. I've bought tiny tools so that my abnormally small hands can operate them. lol I hope that works out!

Once I've created the runes I'm going to purchase a bag to store them that will also be suitable to wear around my neck for awhile. I've seen these bags at our local Renaissance Faire and that's where I plan to get mine before they leave town for the season. We intend to make at least one more trip out there and hopefully I can find something then.

If all goes as planned I'll post some photos of the finished runes. If all does not goes as planned - well I'll sob for awhile and figure out a different course of action.

The Trash Heap has spoken.

I have no doubt they will be awesome powerful and personally enchanted Runes.
Even if the results of any project we do ourselves turn out less "Professional" I've found they are just as potent having been created by our own energies & craftsmanship. Good luck, and enjoy!

(and sorry about Mini Mi, and awesome for hte impossible happening!)
