I've been watching with interest the surprise over all that has happened since Obama took office. I'm not going to pretend to be thrilled with everything that he's doing because I'm not, but I'm very interested in how the rest of the country interprets and reacts to his actions. It seems like he's got a lot of people in a panic over the aggressive nature of his term thus far. Considering that he's just getting started and has already done a great deal I'm not surprised with the (over)reactions of the general public since he took office. Everything he's done is considered a big deal because it really is a big deal. If you think about the previous 8 years, there was virtually nothing done in or about this country that entire time. Now there's a president in office who has turned the focus away from war and to our own "failing" situation. He wasted no time getting started but waiting wasn't an option as the situation has become dire for so many. When you have one "leader" who does absolutely nothing for 8 years, the opposite of that might seem a bit overwhelming.
I'll continue to watch with interest but don't expect an analysis of his job by me - it's not my thing and hindsight is 20/20. I consider myself to be a bit on the outside of it all anyway. I voted for him to increase the chances he'd get into office rather than another (at least) 4 years of conservative BS and I don't regret that move yet, at least not in a major way. I hope he improves the situation but I am also of the belief that the current economic system is in its death spasm - or maybe that's just my hope. So I do not have extremely high hopes on any front other than legislative and thus far he's done ok. Not perfect, but ok.
