I don't think I've mentioned that Mini Me's school is performing their rendition of 'Seussical the Musical' and Mini Me has the part of 'Thing 1" (no vocals or lines, just running around the audience being goofy). Their first performance was yesterday with an audience of elementary and junior high kids and worked out well as there were still a few bugs they needed to figure out. Fortunately the young audience was thrilled to be there and didn't notice any of the issues including the fact that 'Thing 1' and 'Thing 2' didn't have any face paint for the first show.
The face paint was handled just in time for their second show and it was a good thing. The second performance was today for the high school students and they are much less forgiving than the elementary and jr. high kids. It sounds like almost everything went perfectly. Everything, that is, but for the face paint. It seems that someone purchased a face paint that hardens so much that she can't move her face and it hurts. Have I mentioned that she's a drama queen? This is why she is enjoying her participation in the play so much!
Saturday night is the final performance and the one the hubby and I are attending. We're going to the "dinner theater" (likely some horrible spaghetti eaten at a table with locals we don't care for) and can't wait to see the show. Mini Me has been warned that she and 'Thing 2' (one of her best friends) are to leave me out of their games during the performance. I have a blushing/hot flash issue and don't care to look like a complete ass in front of everyone as I turn beet red if even remotely embarrassed. We save that sort of humiliation for the comfort and privacy of our home where I'm always a convenient target anyway!
The school year is approaching the end. Not a moment too soon for her until she realizes that she doesn't have that much time left in high school and then a mild (presently) panic sets in. At least she has a couple more years to really work herself into a complete frenzy about adulthood.
And that's where I'm stopping lest this turn all sappy and sentimental... lol
